An attorney with over 30 years of experience, Deborah has worked with both private and governmental organizations and served 8 years as the mayor of Lithonia, Georgia. Though well versed in legal and administrative functions, Deborah’s area of expertise is community and economic development. She holds a doctoral degree in community and economic development, which allows her to work with underserved communities and develop strategies to address their needs. She is also a part-time instructor at Georgia State University.

Deborah will “support Medicare for all, including coverage for mental health and substance use treatment, prescription drugs, vision, dental, hearing, maternity, and long-term care.”

Deborah will "work to curb the effects of climate change, protect our natural resources, and ensure the quality of our air, water, and land." She believes in investing in clean energy and making the country more sustainable.

Deborah supports “raising the minimum wage to $15 hour,” “increased funding and technical assistance for small farmers and urban agriculture incentives,” and “enhanced tenant protection programs and increased funding for affordable housing programs.”
