Significance of State

Nebraska is historically Republican and considered the reddest state in the Midwest. It has only supported a Democratic presidential candidate five times since 1900. In 2008, the state voted for candidate Barrack Obama. In 2012 and 2016, the GOP candidate comfortably won the state's delegates.
