Significance of State

Democrats have the opportunity to grab a Senate seat in Kansas that has been held by Republicans for nearly a century. Republicans’ failure to rally behind a single candidate to replace Congressman Pat Roberts is a testament to Kansas Republicans’ wavering solidarity.

Barbara Bollier ~ U.S. Senate

Barbara is fighting to fill the Senate seat left vacant by soon-to-be-retired Republican Congressman Pat Roberts. Barbara won the Democratic Primary. In November, she faces Republican Roger Marshall. The seat is considered lean/likely Republican, but is pundits have lately labeled it a battleground race.

Kali Barnett ~ U.S. House, District 1

Kali is running to fill the open seat in District 1. Republican Roger Marshall is leaving the seat to run for U.S. Senate. Kali faces opponents from both parties. This district is considered solid/safe Republican.

Michelle De La Isla ~ U.S. House, District 2

In November, Michelle faces Republican Jake LaTurner. p the incumbent losing in the Primary, this district is considered likely/ solid Republican. As the current Mayor of Topeka, Michelle plans to organize a solid campaign and fight to flip this district.

Sharice Davids ~ U.S. House, District 3

Sharice flipped KS-3 blue in 2018 when she defeated Republican incumbent Kevin Yoder. She now faces several Republican challengers in this lean/likely Democratic district. This election is a battleground race.
