Significance of State

Massachusetts has been mostly Democratic since 1928. The state has only voted Republican four times: twice for Dwight Eisenhower and twice for Ronald Reagen. In 2016, Hilary Clinton had 60% of the vote, beating Donald Trump’s 33% of the vote.

Ayanna Pressley ~ U.S. House, District 7

In 2018, Ayanna ran to represent the 7th Congressional district. She overwhelming won with 98.3% of the vote. In 2020, no other Democrat or Republican candidates have filed to run against her. She's on the November ballot.

Jesse Mermell ~ U.S. House, District 4

There are many Democratic contenders vying to represent MA-4 in the primary. They include: Jake Auchincloss, Dave Cavell, Becky Grossman, Alan Khazei, Ihssane Leckey, Natalia Linos, Jesse Mermell, Ben Sigel, Chris Zannetos and Nick Matthew. This district is currently represented by Joseph Kennedy III, who has been the incumbent since 2012.

Katherine Clark ~ U.S. House, District 5

Katherine Clark has represented Massachusetts' 5th Congressional District since 2013. She is running for re-election in November 2020. She's running uncontested in the Democratic primary, and will face Caroline Calorusso.

Lori Trahan ~ U.S. House, District 3

In 2018, Lori won by .02 percentage points in the Democratic primary. She won the general election with 62% of the vote. This year, there are no other Democratic contenders in the primary and no Republican has filed for this race. She's on the November ballot.
