Megan was born and raised in Jefferson County, MO. She was raised by her grandparents, who inspired her to get politically involved. Her grandfather worked at Chrysler for over 40 years before he retired, and he taught Megan about the importance of unions and worker’s rights. When the Chrysler plant closed in 2009, Megan attended a protest to support the workers. Since then, she has been attending various protests and advocating for women’s rights and protecting the environment.
On healthcare . . .
“Healthcare is a Human Right regardless of gender, race, age, sexual orientation or ability to pay.” Megan believes that health care coverage should not involve profit. She will support legislation that acknowledges health care is a human right.
On the environment . . .
“As a proud member of the Sunrise Movement, I support the New Green Deal.” Megan believes that we need large scale change to combat the climate crisis.
Plans for Economy
Megan believes that right now is the perfect time to invest in climate friendly renewable energy sources and mass transit infrastructure. By doing this, we will create millions of jobs to help those who are unemployed.
"No child's education should be less than another because they don't have home access to a computer or internet.” Megan believes that currently, the quality of a child’s education depends on where they live. In Congress, she will fight to ensure that all children have access to equal educational opportunities, no matter where they live.
