Women Running in Nebraska

Significance of State

Nebraska is traditionally a safe Republican district. However, some districts in the state are considered battleground races, meaning half of Nebraska’s electorate could be represented by a Democrat in Congress. Further, because Nebraska does not use the winner-take-all electoral system, its delegates are eligible to be split between presidential candidates.

Kate Bolz ~ U.S. House, District 1

After winning her primary, Kate Bolz faces Republican incumbent Jeffrey Fortenberry in this solid/safe Republican district.

Kara Eastman ~ U.S. House, District 2

Kara Easterman is challenging Republican incumbent Don Bacon in this battleground race. In 2018, she lost this seat by just 1.9%. District 2 is considered a lean-Republican district.
