Adair Ford Boroughs ~ U.S. House, District 2

Adair grew up in Williston, South Carolina. Her parents worked tirelessly to provide her and her siblings every opportunity. After graduating college, she taught at Mauldin High School in Greenville County. Determined to positively affect education policy, she chose to leave teaching and study law at Stanford Law School. She then joined the Dept of Justice and worked on cases of corporations not paying their fair share of taxes. In 2013, she returned to South Carolina to work in U.S. District Court in Charleston. In 2016, she founded Charleston Legal Access to provide legal services to middle-income families that can't afford legal help nor qualify for government assistance. She's launched her 2020 campaign to fairly represent the people of South Carolina.

On healthcare . . .

In an interview with Emerge South Carolina, Adair explains that one of the main reasons for her candidacy is a desire "to make sure that your zip code does not determine your health outcome".

On the environment . . .

Plans for Economy

To Emerge South Carolina, Adair answers that "My vision for my community is one where opportunity is accessible and equal, no matter where in the district you۪re from. I want our rural areas to have the same access to business funding, learning, and healthcare as our more urban areas".

Education Policy

In this same interview, Adair explains her sincere belief that her constituents shouldn't be held "back from advancing in school because you don۪t have the internet at home."
